Meet the Intermax Team

Dan Grubar, Residential Account Manager

Dan moved from the Midwest to North Idaho in 1983 and graduated from Post Falls High School. He has completed the CITE program at North Idaho College and obtained certification for MCSA. He has spent many years in the hospitality industry working with people, in addition to more than six years in sales-oriented environments where he has created a strong foundation for developing customer relations. Dan enjoys spending his time outdoors with his family, along with ample time fly fishing and skiing.  Dan is married with three children.

Danny Alfson, Director of Business Development

Danny was raised in Post Falls and has been blessed to be able to spend the majority of his life in North Idaho. He brings Intermax more than fifteen years of experience in the technology, software and data communication industries. Most recently as a Vice-President of AMS Services, the leading technology provider in the insurance industry, Danny managed both the customer support and direct sales staff while overseeing a variety of areas including: sales, operations, product development, and customer service. This cross departmental blend has given him a unique perspective which drives his devotion to a customer focused sales environment.

Danny enjoys spending time with his family, horseback riding, and the majority of outdoor activities that the Northwest has to offer. Danny has been with Intermax since 2007 and looks forward to helping our customers - and thus our company - enjoy continued success and growth.

Jen Rowley, Administrative Assistant/Customer Care

Jen joined the Intermax team after successful positions at customer service related industries and has proven to be a great asset.  She graduated from Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene and has taken business courses at both NIC and LCSC.  She has more than 10 years experience in customer service related fields.  She enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Joe Hollingsworth, Field Technical Lead

Joe maintains Intermax operations at private cable head end installations and enterprise client locations along with ongoing support of Intermax's residential and commercial clients. Besides having immense understanding of major operating systems, he stays current with the advances in computer and information technology so when there is an issue it can be resolved quickly. Joe lends his talent to the North Idaho Computer Users Group where he has acted as Vice President. He also designs, modifies, and repairs computer systems as well as doing web and graphic design in his spare time. In addition to many other technology based interests, Joe hosts his own online gaming resource and directory. Joe has lived in the northwest all of his life and has deep roots to the community. He is an avid artist, writer and music lover.

Mike Kennedy, President

Mike has had entrepreneurial experience with several business startups since 1993 including serving as founding Vice-President of Sales and marketing for ApplyYourself, a software company delivering web-based admission applications for colleges and universities. Also, Mike worked in marketing and sales management in the insurance technology sector for two companies, AMS Services, and XDimensional Technologies. Mike graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1990 with a BA degree.

Mike is a 1998 graduate of the Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Coeur d'Alene program and has served on the Board of Directors for the Cd'A Library Foundation and the Summer Theater, among other community activities. Additionally, Mike was a founding board member of Catholic Charities of Idaho, and serves on the board for the North Idaho Housing Coalition and the Idaho Humanities Council. In 2005, Mike was elected to a four-year term of service on the Coeur d'Alene City Council and re-elected to a second term in 2009.  He and his wife Kathleen have seven children.

Michael Morris, Vice-President of Sales Engineering

Michael graduated from Oregon State University in 1993 with a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems. Michael grew up in Bend, Orgeon, where he returned after his education to start Empire Net, Inc. an Internet Service Provider. This company was sold after five years due to the customer base and technology acquired by Michael. After moving to the North Idaho area in 2001, Michael was one of the start-up owners of Intermax Networks, Inc. and has done work on all aspects of the business. Today, Michael is in the Sales Engineering role and works with the sales team to deliver broadband services to businesses and residences throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington.

Mike Sims, Technical Support Engineer

Mike grew up in the Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene area and graduated from Post Falls High School. He Studied electronics at NIC and has had more than seven years of work experience as a Technical Support and Customer Service professional. Mike has been a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Coeur d’Alene, a member of the Shriners (Kalam Temple), and a member of Shriners club Um Al Jamal. He volunteers as the leader of an online community of close to 100 members for the past 8 years. Mike enjoys riding motorcycles, repairing small engines, and going skating with his family.

Paul Allen, Vice-President, Chief Technology Officer

Paul is one of the original founders of Intermax Networks and has a broad base of information industry experience in a variety of settings. His background includes management positions at Rockwell International working on the Space Shuttle program, at the Boeing Company developing MRP II systems, at Optical Profile - a startup developing high precision optical grade machining systems, and at General Electric as an industrial automation product development specialist. He holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of California and an MBA degree from Pepperdine University. Paul has lived in the Northwest for 15 years and is an avid fisherman.

Rick Yates, Technical Support Engineer

Rick has been our lead Help Desk Technician since 2008. His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology from Western Michigan University and a nearly 10 year career as a commercial airline pilot for a Northwest Airlines commuter company. He later transitioned into an independent computer systems consultant bringing a wide array of knowledge in computer and networking support. He has been a systems builder and also has extensive familiarity with Dish Network TV sales, installation and support. In addition, he has also has an extensive knowledge of Satellite based Internet service delivery systems like Wildblue, Hughesnet, and Starband (and their limitations as compared to the Intermax internet delivery system). Rick has lived in various parts of the country but has enjoyed calling the Northwest home for the past 5+ years.

Seth Francis, Network Administrator

Seth was born and raised in Sandpoint, and from a young age developed interests in science, music, and the outdoors. Through school at Sandpoint High School and Spokane Falls Community College Seth studied computer science, music, photo journalism, aviation, French, and German. Seth is a graduate of Scholarship Flight Training in Sandpoint, and also studied in Lübeck, Germany. Seth is a proud member of the Intermax Networks team since 2004. He started as an installation tech, and now manages Linux/Unix based systems, wireless systems, and advanced inter-network routing systems.
